| A
simple, foolproof method, for understanding
and utilizing color to create beautiful and
harmonious paintings. Students will begin by
learning to mix color based on three
primaries. Then color harmonies will be
explored ultimately leading to the expanded
palette, and an exploration of additional
colors will allow a particular harmonized
color scheme to resonate even more
dramatically. Students will then be guided
in experiencing the joy of color and how it
can be used to the fullest when applied to
various subject matter. Using oil,
watermixable oils or acrylic, each student
will complete various color samplers and 1-2
still life paintings that demonstrate
principles of color harmony while expressing
the movement of light over form. Ultimately
the class leads to seeing color more clearly
and being able to mix the colors you see. |
