In this two day workshop you will translate
your favorite painting, sketch or photograph
into a treasured 3-D bas-relief sculpture.
No prior sculpting experience necessary. Use
an easy and fun layering technique to build
up a relief, bevel the planes to catch the
light, and deepen the "color". Capture
gesture and likeness with oil based Classic
Clay and a few key sculpture tools. You will
go home with a completed tile or plaque
ready for display in your studio or to go to
mold. Specs and materials list available
upon registration.
Specializing in relief, Valarie James's
mixed-media Memorial sculptures have been
profiled in Sculptural Pursuits, Fiber Arts
magazine and the Wall Street Journal.
Once a relief has been made with the
plastalina it can then be made into a mold
and become a limited edition done in a
variety of techniques.
