Clyde Ross Morgan Morgan followed his dream to be a sculptor from Salt Lake City to Sedona in 1983. In his studio and foundry he began creating bronze subjects that held his fascination and experience and in 1986 he was commissioned to create Utah’s Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial. A monument in Tucson, a bust outside Wickenburg’s City Hall, and a heroic size bronze statue of Dale Earnhardt – champion Nascar driver - are just a few of the accomplishments of this talented artist. In August of 2001 he won a commission from the City of Sedona to create a larger than life-size bronze about the history of Sedona. The subject, a cowboy artist, pays tribute to the beauty of the Sedona area and the founding of the Cowboy Artists of America. The 9-foot-tall statue was installed in Uptown Sedona in October 2002 and the Sedona Arts Center is pleased to be chosen to offer the maquette of the piece.
