Mary Lois Brown
Mary Lois Brown is a Pennsylvania native who has been painting most of her life. “A year of private studies with Patricia Cochran in the 1970s changed my view of art,” she says. She was taught the approach of the Old Masters and an exciting new world of color and light opened up. Now she paints mostly landscapes, either plein air or from outdoor sketches or photographs. Mary Lois is proud of recent awards; 1st Place in the Art Alliance of the White Mountains annual juried summer show as well as being selected as one of the Arts for the Parks Miniature Top 100 competition which had her work displayed in the Grand Tetons for a week.
